Ouya Android Users Can Have Great Experience With XBMC
The Ouya team has joined its hands with XBMC, with a notion of bringing entertainment hub & open source media player to all Android devices. Nathan Betzen, the Community Manager of XBMC says that this collaboration wouldn’t have been successful without the innumerous demands on Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, in blogs and in Kick starter comments as well.
Betzen says, “We are delighted to announce that XBMC will be working with Ouya to ensure that XBMC works well on the Ouya platform. Ouya's Android underpinnings and XBMC's work on Android will dramatically speed up that effort, as will early XBMC dev access to Ouya prototypes."
The team of Ouya has not stopped with this. Besides the deal with XBMC, it has also associated itself with a free service called Tuneln Radio. Tuneln Radio has more than 60,000 radio stations, which play almost 2 million on-request shows. So, Ouya users will enjoy listening to their local radio stations without any issue in the signal reception.
A feature that would excite the users is that Tuneln is offering two versions of an Android app on Google Play: one is free & another one is a paid version. The latter is a Pro version that would cost you $0.99. Using this app, you will be able to record live station music and the on-request programs, which you can store in your phone or in a tablet. A while ago, Ouya declared its tie-up with iHeartRadio that streamlines not only the local radio stations, but also it does the same with the radio stations across the country.
According to Clear Channel Media, "iHeartRadio brings users the only 'all-in-one' free digital radio experience – the best live radio stations from all over America, PLUS user-created Custom Stations, like a playlist, inspired by favorite artists and songs. And the iHeartRadio HTML 5 App is a perfect fit for OUYA because it’s built for a large screen format and provides an intuitive and engaging audio and visual experience."
Also, Ouya has made its partnership with VEVO, to bring all the leading music videos & platforms for entertainment to Android users. VEVO says, “At VEVO, our mission is to bring high quality music experiences to users wherever and whenever. We have always strived to embrace new platforms that developers, creative communities and consumers are excited about. Ouya is just that—it’s one of the most exciting new entertainment platforms we’ve seen and we think it’s a natural fit for VEVO’s premium music videos and original music programming."
